Hey, sports fans!

Yup, it's time again for our Second Saturday fly-in. Master Chef Eberhart and his lovely assistant Twany will be cooking up hamburgers, brats and little tiny round tubes called hot dogs (must be a French thing). Beverages, fuel and repair services provided by Don Davis Aviation.

In addition, Chapter 21 is hosting the Evansville air traffic controllers to orientation flights in and about the Evansville Class C airspace. In particular, I'd like to ask all of the IFR drivers and students to join us and fly practice instrument approaches (simulated; not under the hood) with your ATC passengers and maybe a landing at 3EV.

See you there.

Late breaking news...

EAA aircraft should park remotely on the North apron parking and contact Unicom on 122.8 for transportation to/from aircraft. Visitors driving in should still report to the FBO building.

The ramp work scheduled for tomorrow (Saturday) consists of milling the ramp area. The likelihood of dust, debris and FOD from the milling machinery makes aircraft operations dangerous in this area.

We will continue as planned - just parking remotely and shuttling back and forth to the FBO. Fuel trucks will fuel on the remote apron.

We will have tents for shade and bottled water available.

Many thanks to all who participated in today's special Second Saturday Fly-In at KEHR.

Steve Eberhart, Jules Mominee, Bruce Epmeier and I flew 6 controller orientation flights which included practice GPS/RNAV approaches into KEVV and ASR approaches as well. A few of us did low approaches into 3EV just to demonstrate how the visual approach appears into Rwy 18. We also had a number of inquiries into student pilot lessons.

Les Bryant was there working on his tail dragger skills and Twany Eberhart, Judy Epmeier and David Perkins manned the grill and kept us all fed and watered.

A special thanks to the folks at Don Davis for shuttling us back and forth and helping us work around the ramp construction. We beat the heat and conducted our flights safely. It was a good day.

Please plan on joining us on Saturday, July 21st for our first Young Eagles event at KEHR.

Fly safe.
