Randy Smith, who lives in Newburgh at 8977 Oak Grove Road, just north of the Lloyd (take Libbert road north to Oak Grove, then turn right) did the paint work on the Rocket after the tornado damage was repaired.

Randy's shop is more than large enough to paint most any homebuilt. You just have to get it to him. A tall aircraft, like the tail of a Cessna 172, might not fit inside though. It would be close!

Randy did a good job. My only complaint was that I had to keep telling him to ease up on the thickness of the paint to keep the weight down, but that was just me being overly picky.

After the plane was back at Hepler, Randy came out and sanded and buffed it. It all looked great.

Seriously, learning how to paint can be done. The most important item is a very well lit area. A painter HAS to see what he is doing. OK, I do not have a 'show' airplane... But it is fun to fly and that was my reason to build it
