Dear Members:

The last few chapter meetings have been quite tedious as we've worked through the legal and tax issues. I thank you for your patience and commitment to making the Chapter a better organization.

Now those days of voting and resolutions and bylaws and tax issues are behind us and it's time to get back to what we love - talking and learning about aviation!

Please join us next Wednesday at Skylane airport where the entire evening is to be spent on aviation safety and education. Social begins at 6PM with the gathering starting at 7PM.

Specifically, we're going to continue to look at airmanship in and around the traffic pattern in a variety of aircraft and scenarios. Bring your experiences to share with the group and help us all be better aviators.

So mark your calendars and join us for the next meeting. In fact - bring a friend! There are no strangers at our gatherings. All are welcome.

Bill

Don't want to pull out another Power Point presentation this Wednesday and put you all asleep so...

1) We need more pilots/airplanes and volunteers for the Young Eagles event tentatively scheduled for November 18th at KEHR. Contact Sue Glisson for more details.

2) Open nominees for the 2018 Board positions are to be considered this month. Here's your opportunity to change my title to President Emeritus! The Nominating Committee will be canvassing for volunteers. Voting occurs during the November monthly meeting (or December if we meet at Deaconess Midtown).

3) We really need volunteers for the position of Treasurer. Jim Schmitt has retired from the Board and the transition to our new accounting system awaits.

4) Reminder: October 14th is a busy day in aviation. Olney Chili Fly-In, Red Bull Air Races at the Brickyard and my favorite, Bowman Aviation Days at KLOU.

5) We also need volunteers for helping with parking for Aviation Palooza at 3EV on the 28th of October. We need get folks from the street to the overflow area to the east of the hangers without anyone or anything being damaged. Contact Jules Mominee for more information.

6) We will be starting an IMC Club here in the Tri-State IF we can get 10 or more interested members.

7) Hold the date! November 8th meeting is tentatively set for Deaconess Midtown auditorium. GL FSDO is coming down with a safety seminar.

8) Reminder - new members (and you old ones too) Make sure you are current with your Youth Protection Policy requirements. Takes a few minutes on line and you'll get your certificate in about 2 weeks. Required if you want to participate in Young Eagles events.
