A certain local pilot is fond of saying "ask pilots 10 questions and you'll get 20 different answers..." Well thanks to The Bearded Wonder I've pulled together some of the FAA's safety brochures for us to review and consider as the weather improves and we fly more. Each is just a few pages in length but it's a good review of the basics and perhaps you'll want to investigate some subjects more thoroughly on your own: ![]() Downloaded 869 times ![]() Downloaded 797 times ![]() Downloaded 807 times ![]() Downloaded 866 times ![]() Downloaded 792 times ![]() Downloaded 774 times |

let's talk oxygen. Here's a quick Bold Method quiz: https://www.boldmethod.com/blog/quizzes ... uirements/ Another Bold Method man-splainer (sorry ladies, we're thick in the head): https://www.boldmethod.com/learn-to-fly ... n-systems/ And for those of you just wanting to scare yourself: https://fearoflanding.com/accidents/acc ... alitta-66/ And finally, while most of us won't be tooling along in the upper flight levels, here's a good overview of high altitude flight operations. I especially like the Garmin Auto-Descent function (for those of you who have not used this feature it's the "press any key to continue" function in the Garmin GXXXX panels. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PLG2WMpRpl0 Editors note: How do those tiny little wings on the Cirrus bug smasher keep that thing aloft at FL250? |
