Yup, it's that time of year again... here's a refresher on requesting the all important VFR On Top clearance.

VFR-on-top is an IFR clearance but you are in VFR conditions enroute so you are able to fly visually and watch for traffic. VFR-over-the-top is when you depart VFR and climb over weather then land in VFR.
