Hey, IFR drivers, students and the idle curious...

We're less than a month from Sun n' Fun and we're gonna brief the 2020 NOTAM (if available) with particular emphasis on the IFR arrival/departure procedures. Of course, we'll look at the entire NOTAM and brush up on all things Sun n' Fun and knock the winter cobwebs off your cross-country knowledge. Finally, we'll review emergency procedures for both IFR and VFR en route.

Location: 3EV Skylane office building
Address: 2029 ALLENS LANE , EVANSVILLE, IN 47720
Time: 0800 - 0930 local
Date: Saturday, February 29th, 2020

Bring a friend too. All are welcome.

See you there.

Follow up from IMC Club meeting:

The 'service' used to request ADS-B deviations is the "ADS-B Deviation Authorization Pre-Flight Tool (ADAPT)". It is located on FAA's "Service Availability Prediction Tool (SAPT)" website at SAPT.FAA.GOV:

https://sapt.faa.gov/default.php

The ADAPT function (second title down) has a reasonable explanation page and a "Flight Plan" style form to enter data on a flight that will not comply with the ADS-B rule. As I said at Skylane, I believe that this is the way that the ADS-B "enforcers" will exempt a non-compliant aircraft who enters ADS-B airspace before sending any 'nasty-grams'. Of course they also track the deviations, so they don't want to see the same callsign repeatedly requesting the same deviation day after day...
