This month we have two very different scenarios. One involves the hazards of winter flying, though not in the manner you would normally expect. The other highlights how important understanding approach plates can be. There will also be a short approach plate quiz. As usual, we will have our resident retired controller on-board to give a perspective from the ATC side of the house and answer those questions that you'd rather not hear on the frequency. Sponsoring Division: NA Contact Information: RANDY WHITE Phone: (502) 396-2880 white@csiky.com Additional Event Information & Acknowledgement of Industry Sponsor(s): The purpose of the IMC Club is to promote instrument flying, proficiency and safety. Along with IFR flying, we have monthly chapter meetings where pilots can network and share knowledge and experiences to promote safety and build proficiency within the IFR system. Through its nationwide chapters in association with EAA, IMC Club provides organized “hangar flying” focused on building proficiency in instrument flying believing that safety and proficiency are developed through education and experience. Monthly meetings use real world scenarios at each meeting to engage our members and allow them to share and build their experience. You do not have to be instrument rated to attend. Bring your thoughts or stories and be willing to share them with the group. This meeting is very interactive. Participation by the group is a key element to the IMC Club meeting. Others have found it helpful to bring along a copy of their flight manual, GPS manual and charts. If you navigate with an iPad, bring it along. Who can attend? You don’t need an instrument rating to attend. This meeting is open to all current, non-current, and future instrument pilots.
