Van's Aircraft has issued a Service Bulletin for all RV-6, 6A; RV-7, 7A; and RV-8, 8A aircraft. Note, this does not include the RV-9. This is a PERFORM BEFORE NEXT FLIGHT service bulletin and directly applies to your horizontal stabilizer staying firmly affixed to your airplane. Here is the SB: http://www.vansaircraft.com/pdf/sb014-01-31.pdf I have inspected mine and there are no cracks. According to the Service Bulletin I am good until my next Conditional Inspection which is in April. I am going to perform the Service Bulletin work in my hangar Saturday April 12, 2014 starting at 9:00 AM. Any EAA Chapter 21 members that want to see an RV with it's tail off and what all is involved in performing the SB work are invited to stop by. |
