Yesterday Earl Schroeder and I, on behalf of Jay Sanders, met with EVV and YMCA Reps to disuss our Chapters' involvement in a 5K race event on May 11, 2013.

We agreed this would be a good opportunity for our Chapter to have a Young Eagles Event. So, we will of course need help with pilots and planes, and ground crew. Please contact Jay or myself for futher details.

I will be there and will fly as many as I can; one young eagle at a time :D

Thanks for pulling this all together. It should result in a lot of good media exposure.

Can't wait, I'll be there in the EZ. Hope 18-36 is open as planned?

The weather was marginal at first, but cleared by 11 am for the event. There were 15 Young Eagles flown by our members.

Thanks to Jay Sanders for putting the event together and thanks to all the members that participated, pilots and crew. Also thanks to Pam Sanders, Jay's wife for her help.

Well Done

Glad to hear the weather cooperated. How many pilots and planes participated? Any pictures?

I brought my friend Joe along to help with ground ops. He took the following pictures on the way over and back to Boonville.

The last one here was me prepping to start up to take my first Young Eagles flight (as a pilot this time!). My first ever was in Ron Owen's C172 in 2003 out at Tri-State - which was 10 years ago next month. I'm very happy to see it come full circle.

Congradulations Luke! You are what Young Eagles is all about. Again thanks for your time and effort.
